Monday has arrived! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Today I am starting the first of many blogs for 2017 where I dedicate time on showcasing products that are cause driven. There are many products out there who are helping the world become a better place. As a blogger with a growing audience, and a graduate student from Public Health, this is the perfect opportunity for me to feed my soul on merging my two passions together.
Today's organization is from our sister city, Fort Worth! Read a little bit about them and their hard work that they give to the people living in our neighborhoods. Plus check out my outfit from their Resale Shop! All the information is below!
The Center on Transforming Lives focuses on changing the lives of women and children to break the cycle of poverty through safe housing, early childhood development and financial stability. They serve approximately 3,500 women, children and families each year. The Community saves $20,000 per year for every family lifted out of homelessness.
How YOU Can Help!
Volunteer: Ambassadors, Financial Coaches, Volunteers for the Resale Shop
Donate Child Care Needs: Diapers, Wipes, Tissues, etc.
Financial Empowerment Needs: Gas Cards, Bus Passes, Gift Cards, etc.
Housing Needs: Bed Linens, Toilet Paper, Trash Bags
Other ways to get involved are to book an event with their gorgeous Ballroom; Historic 512. Along with this ballroom is catering services by Triumph Catering. How awesome to book your venue KNOWING it goes back to a great cause! Lastly, they have their own resale shop which offers quality merchandise at affordable prices including gently used women’s, men’s and children’s apparel, shoes, accessories and an array of housewares, art, home decor and furniture.
Every donation and sale supports programs and services for homeless women and children including safe housing, early childhood development and financial empowerment. Clients receive vouchers so they can get items they need, such as clothing for job interviews or items for their new homes, at no charge.
How Did I get Involved?
I decided to volunteer my time with the Resale Shop. Since I am a fashion guru, it is only fitting that I got connected with this shop! I was honored to be asked to style 6 outfits that will be featured at their Clean Out Help Out Happy Hour event Wednesday, May 3rd. All proceeds goes back to The Center for Transforming Lives so they can continue their mission to provide services for families in need. This is one of the few resale shops that gives back to the community in the DFW. What a sweet deal! Check out my outfit that I put together from The Resale Shop.
Polka-dot blouse, shorts, bracelet, earrings, neutral flats all from the Resale Shop. Total...$28!
I hope you like this introduction to this new addition to the blog! Keep up to date by subscribing to my blog on the right side of this page!
