So many trends were seen at New York Fashion Week this past month in February, and one of those was a "Spanish style" flare which includes embroidered floral. Depending on your view, I always think of my Spanish roots when it comes to embroidered floral. Maybe it's because I clearly remember embroidered floral on my off the shoulder white top when I was in the elementary folkloric group. Lol! Who Knows! What I do know is, Burberry and Marc Jacobs were two of the many designers rocking floral embroidery on the runway... and that is Excelente!
I partnered with an awesome local Dallas Boutique, Shop September , and styled their floral skirt along with a sheer blouse with red cuffs and collar. Take a look!
I wanted to style this skirt with a touch of red but not with a plain neutral red shirt. That would be too easy. :-P
Instead I decided to style it with this sheer, red collar and cuff blouse. Notice the light colors on the skirt? It compliments well with the sheerness of the blouse. And the sequence...well..it definitely adds decor to this look which keeps it interesting!
I truly admire the details of this skirt and blouse! The mini crossbody bag gives this look an added boost of pink without it being overbearing.
I find it best that if you combine a loose shirt/blouse with a similar loose skirt, it must be gathered at the waist! If not, it will make your whole outfit look sloppy when it should give you curves and angles to flatter your figure.
You can easily add black strappy sandals to this look, but I wanted to dress it up just a bit with these slip on mules! If you want this look to be even more elegant, add a pair of black dress pumps for a night out!
